Leon Springs Fire Department is deeply saddened to report the sudden passing of our Medical Director, Dr. Craig Manifold. Dr Manifold was a highly respected leader in the EMS community and served on several national boards. He also served as a fight surgeon for Texas Air National Guard. He played a major role in improving the level of care that LSVFD personnel are able to provide to the community. Please keep his family and co-workers in your thoughts and prayers.

The storm pretty much went around Leon Springs this evening but sent fire crews responding to two different structure fire calls due to lightning strikes. One house struck was off of Babcock road and the second was in Stonewall. No fire at Babcock house and small fire in Stonewall that was quickly extinguished.
Earlier this evening a house in the 28000 Block of Ralph Fair Road was reported struck by lightning with smell of smoke. Fire crews responded and extinguished a small fire in the attic of the home. Damage was kept to a minimum and no injuries were reported. Big thanks to our mutual aid companies Grey Forest (ESD8), and Shavano Park for assisting on this call.

Big turnout today at Leon Springs Fire Station 134 for COVID-19 testing. Eighty two people showed up for their appointments at the drive through test and should receive their results within 96 hours. What a beautiful surprise! Ms. Sandra Kabanek and her staff at Instrument Specialists Inc. on I-10 stopped by our station 134 today and showered us with gifts. They brought boxes and boxes of delicious food and desserts in addition to stuffed stockings for everyone and a very generous donation to the department.Not all of our firefighters can be home for the holidays but everyone at the station certainly knows they are loved and appreciated.
